In addition to the core packing tips I posted prior to my trip to Cambodia, a some more came up as I prepare to go to Jordan.
- Check the culture of the country you're visiting. In this case, Jordan is a very conservative country, so I'll be carrying clothes that cover more, and a headscarf.
- A great way to keep things organized is through packing cubes. They make it easier to find everything and keep clothing in better shape.
- Carry extra bags for used clothing, things that get wet, etc.
- Roll your clothing (rather than fold it). This keeps clothing relatively wrinkle free!
- Backpack roller luggage: This is essentially a backpack with wheels. I never check luggage, and the wheels are great when I'm wandering airports waiting for connections. The backpack portion makes it easier to move where wheels simply won't work. Here's what I use.
