One of the best parts of travel is learning about some new corner of the world in a more personal way. Before I go to any country, I do some research into its history and people and here are a few factoids about my next destination.
- Has a population of 6 million people (compare this to 8mm people in New York City) with a population that is predominantly Sunni Muslim
- Is bordered by Israel, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq. In this time of war in Iraq, the Jordanian government plays a tricky role working to befriend the West while supporting the beliefs and needs of the Muslim population.
