Sketchy-looking Chinese bar in the heart of Chinatown, heralded by a flickering neon sign nearly fallen down.
The shouts of locals, a slamming down cups, and the backs of men of all ages huddling over Liars Dice.
A twisting hidden back stair trails down to a basement with paint peeling, leading us all down to the music beating.
A friend had a Birthday party this weekend, in this crazy patch of of a basement in Chinatown. Some friends came in from Philidelphia (none of whom could be described as just plain vanilla) with an amazing DJ in tow. The basement-wide dancing stretched for almost 5 hours as the DJ (pictured below) spinned. And time after time, an unguarded soul would take over the floor for a brief and unchecked solo. A wonderful night of smiles and abandon.
