This is a fun test I found at Writing Travel. Complete this short, somewhat irreverent survey to find out which, if any American accent you sport. Having grown up by the border of Canada, I'm measuring up as a northerner, though I disclaim sounding just a character from the movie, Fargo ;).

What American accent do you have? Your Result: North Central "North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.

I was looking at visits to my blog this morning, followed a particularly interesting-looking link (translate.google.com/translate), and was led to my own site completely translated into German. Interesting discovery :) and what a great tool! Click on the image below to see the result. This user visited http://www.google.com/de , searched, and clicked on Diese Seite übersetzen (translate these pages), for the translation.

In the beginning

I've just discovered the world of blogging, albeit a bit behind the the rest of the world :). While I'm still sorting through how all of this works, I hope to use this space to share some of the amazing things I've seen and learned, including the experiences of my backroads travels around the 7 continents....
